Yes it's true, tallow has somewhat of a sordid past.
Not because it's evil or bad for us and not by any fault of it's own. Quite the contrary. Tallow has had a stellar reputation for ages with a long history of beneficial results in maintaining healthy skin as well and solving skin issues . The problem is there are those who keep a tight lip about the healing benefits of tallow. For whatever reason tallow has been stigmatized as horrible, disgusting and hazardous to your health. While in reality, it's incredibly beneficial to the human body and has been used for centuries for anything from lubricating industrial equipment to moisturizing your delicate eye area.
Here's another secret. Tallow is still widely used in lipsticks, facial moisturizers, eye makeup, face foundations, shampoos, shaving creams, soaps and facial cleansers? Tallow is frequently used under the names Stearic Acid, Lauric Acid, Myristic Acid, Oleic Acid, Palmitic Acid and Sodium Tallowate. Ref. (1) That my friends is the dirty little secret being kept from the general public. Tallow is in a majority of our skin care products already without us knowing it! But wait, there's more.
Now you would think this is good news since tallow has so many wonderful benefits. The dark side of commercially mass produced tallow from animals kept in sad conditions may give you pause the next time you reach for that jar of skin cream. Here's a quick comparison between common commercial product sources and practices and hand crafted Tallow Bella product sources and practices:
Grain-fed -versus- Grass-fed, Feed lots -versus- Free Roaming Cows, Anti-biotic use -versus- Sunshine and Exercise, Hidden Ingredient Names -versus- Simple Ingredients one can find in one's own pantry. Today consumers have to be quite vigilant in choosing body care products for their families whether choosing from skincare lines that do not claim to be "natural" or "organic AND those who claim to be. Many health food stores carry organic label products that have some dirty little secrets of their own. There's a dizzying array of products with long chemical names. Some with undisclosed "fragrance", almost certainly synthetic, and such fragrances have been documented to be carcinogenic and toxic. (2) There are also chemical preservatives, and vitamins, listed by their chemical names, and therefore likely synthetic. Some studies published in Science, The New England Journal of Medicine, and other journals suggest that some synthetic vitamins are toxic, and some extracted vitamins have been found to be useless since they need to be in a whole food form because the whole vitamin is a complex, not just the one molecule identified as the principal component. Hey wait, doesn’t the government make sure my body care are safe and effective? I thought so too but after perusing some statements from the FDA’s own website I was pretty shocked. The mission of the Food and Drug Administration is to protect the public’s health. But, as the name implies, the focus is on food products and drugs. I was alarmed when I saw what the FDA is doing about the toxins and carcinogens recently discovered in cosmetic products. Not much. The reality is that we have to depend on ourselves to make sure our body-care products are safe. Unfortunately not everyone who should, seems to consider nourishing body care is a priority but we do.(3)
There's no need to add synthetic vitamins or anything artificial of any kind to Tallow Bella. The fat soluable vitamins, A, D, & E are all inherently apart of tallow. There's also no need for chemical preservatives since Tallow Bella by nature is simply a combination of healthy fats, oils and essential oils. This insures a long shelf life of a year and more as long as it is kept tightly capped after each use. I am currently using product I packaged in April 2017 for my private use and it's still as fresh today in late November. Tallow Bella Hair and Body Care Products ticks every box for effective and deeply nourishing body care for the whole family. Read more at; www.tallowbella.com

This blog will mainly be about the wonders of glorious tallow, the main ingredient in Tallow Bella. I'm going to share all I've learned with you about the precious. First just a bit about me. As a woman of a certain age ;) It has taken many ups and downs, pains and glories to restore a place of peace and a real child-like wonder in my life. Everyday I am so grateful to God for giving me new found passions, downloads of wisdom, and the desire to research and dig out the hidden treasures in the places he has led me to explore. I wake up most days with a new excitement to discover and learn new things. I have a soft spot in my heart for things from my childhood. Most that have fallen out of favor but are oh so needed now more than ever. Especially those things that help us to live healthfully. I am enjoying my life and favoring the simple and good things I remember growing up. I have such an excitement when I'm able to recreate things my mom and grandmothers taught me. It fills me with such satisfaction, fulfillment and purpose. My desire is to be a conduit of encouragement cheering others on to finding and favoring the good things in their lives that make them want to leap out of bed in the morning. I see us as a community of warriors taking territory and planting the seeds of wisdom with grace watering, and nurturing those who discover and treasure them too. There is a song sung by Steve Green I love called "Find Us Faithful". Just thinking about the words stirs my heart so. It's about leaving a clear path for those who come behind us. A path so bright that helps someone else find their way in the darkness when other lights have grown dim and proven themselves to no light at all. You can watch the video below. Journey with me and explore the hidden treasures being revealed in us, through us and all around us. I'm thrilled your here!
